Wenger happy with Gallas
Arsene Wenger is hopeful William Gallas will return to fitness in
around a fortnight, but is not prepared to rush his star defender
back into action.
The Arsenal defender has been sidelined since November with a thigh
complaint and he has met with repeated setbacks when attempting to
step up his workload.
Wenger, though, claims Gallas is now training well again and is
hopeful of including him in his plans in the near future.
"We rushed him back every time and he had one or two setbacks, but
now we are relaxed about it and we don't set any time at all,"
Wenger told Sky Sports News. "He will be back soon.
"The good thing is he is progressing well, but to say he will be
back next week, certainly not.
"In two weeks, maybe."
The Gunners are 15 points adrift of Manchester United in the title
race, but Wenger is refusing to throw in the towel.
"We still believe we have a little chance and we want to show that
in every game we are ready to fight. We just want to go for it
until the end," added the French tactician.
