Can driving licence be used like a NRIC?

the NRIC is THE document for identification and the drivers' license is only to certify that you are allowed to drive or ride that vehicle...

Wait kena spot check, u don have ur licence wif u... Then very troublesome... Coz u will be expected to go to the nearest police station to report within 48hrs... etc...

i am not sure if they store info inside the IC itself, but i think the answer is no.

the license cannot be used as an IC, but it is sufficiently valid as a form of identifcation. hence sometimes i go out with only the license. anyway the foto on my license looks so much more like me than the one on my IC!

If for simple identification purposes, then yes… If u need it at the bank or for very official purposes, then the IC is required… I never bring my IC out, the driving license is sufficient if the police ever wanna check my ID on the streets and its enough for me to go clubbing

i always juz bring my drving licencse for identification when i go out.
even when i kena check during clubbing, i gave the police driving license aso can. Ur ic number is the most important to em. Tats wad they wan from u anyway.
Lost license = $50 Lost IC = $100
