I'm a Sec 5 student and did my O's in 2009.
English
B4
Chinese
A2
Math
B3
Principle of Accounts B4
Combine
Science E8
Combine Humanities C6
CCA
C6 (able to minus 1 point)
L1R4 = 19
ELR2B2-D= 21 , ELR2B2-B= 19, ELR2B2-C= 21
Unfortunately, I did not get any of my 12
choices.(JAE)
I applied for DAE and tried appealing. My appeal is
unsuccessful so,
#1 I'm wondering should I retake my Science to at
least a B4 and POA to B3 as I really wish to enrol in Apparel
Design and Merchandising (COP 14~15) at Temasek Poly .
#2 Or should I just accept the offer given by RP - Sports &
Leisure Management which I'm not interested in, and transfer out
later ?
I lived at the East side so it's not really convenient to travel
so far to study a course I'm not really interested in for at least
a year?
Please advice.
Thanks!
The most important things are that whether you have the
confidence that you will improve, and the commitment to work
extremely hard to ensure that your grades will improve. Lacking
either of these two will likely result in similar grades once again
( Touchwood ).
I have no idea whether it will be easy to transfer out from RP
or not, but I highly doubt that you are the only one with the idea
of transferring from one course in a poly to another course in
another poly. Thus, if you really wish to enter your desired
course, it will be better for you to retake your "O"s.
However, if you ended up choosing to enter the diploma course in
RP, yet failed to transfer out ( Touchwood again ), I will advice
that you work hard and also read up about the routes which you can
take from there on.
All the best to whichever choice you make.
