Vibration when idle for Kelisa and Picanto?

For Kelisa, even the gear stick is shaking. Have not try Picanto yet. Are they the same? Is this normal for small cc cars?

Got to do with the carb. setting (idle is too low)... if the vehichle is new, after running in the vehicle, tuning needs to be done and to fine tune it to the ideal idleing speed, more tuning is needed.

I have yet to collect my Picanto, so I can only put up more findings when I experienced it myself.

Hey mind I join in to share a bit of info ? It is quite normal for a 1L car to vibrate. But the intensivity of vibration depend also very much on the type of engine. For example 2 same 1L cars, one have a double overhead cam with 4 cylinders and 16 valves will be smoother and vibrate lesser than a single ovehead cam with 4 cylinders 12 valves engine. But if the single overhead cam 4 cylinders 12 valves engine compare to a double overhead cam 3 cylinders 12 valves engine, it may be vibrate lesser. I know of the kelisa vibrate very badly, cause I have test drive both the manual and auto. For auto kelisa I found even worse at idling.

First of all, the fuel controling for kelisa is not done by carburettor (that's old grandfather's technology). So whatever tuning you had mentioned there not valid for new age cars!

Kelisa's fuel controlling is done by ECU. Unless you are talking about enhancement or upgrading to TC/ SC or even NOS, a new ECU (unichip, e-manage and etc) is required to be reprogrammed with new performing datas in order for the car to boost to it's max, then we talk about tuning!

Lets compare with a 1.6 litre car and do take note of their RPMs. For a 1.6L car to achieve 100km/h, their RPM is about 2000. But for a 1L car to achieve that, their RPM is much higher, about 3000. Same goes with those small cc bikes (super noisy) and larger cc bikes (honda CBR, R6 and etc produce solid and smoother sound).....

So the higher the RPM you go, more noise generated! And engine oil require to change more often, especially for performance cars!

I went to test drive the Kelissa yesterday and its pretty disappointing because the engine is damn loud and noisy. It is true for all 1000 cc car? I feel that the Auto is better than the Manual. I personally test for the Manual and the SA test drive the Auto. Still considering whether should I get it.

When you are looking for a small n cheap car, now ask yourself this simple and basic question.... what can I expect from the manufacturer? Can I compare with a better quality car?

To be frank, Perodua Kancil, Kelisa & Keneri are built for low income families in Malaysia so that they are affordable for them to own! So common sense tells, don't expect the low income to come out with extra money for better things.

I've driven the auto Kelisa. Very zippy and has good pick-up. I'm impressed with the handling too. Parking is a breeze.

Vibration when idling is also found in some of the bigger cars. Nothing abnormal about it.

Of course car is not that stable at high speeds compared to bigger cars, but I've been overtaken a few times on the NSHW while driving at 120kph by Kancils and Kelisas.
