For manual, when you change gear to higher one (2 to 3 or 3 to
4), you had better make sure your rpm drops 
I love to see the rpm drops after each gear change. I try to guess
how much it will drop. I love the feeling of being in control of
the car instead of being controlled by the auto tranny. With auto
tranny, each time I loot the accelerator (for overtaking, etc), I
always hope silently that the gear really drops to give me the
extra pick-up.
When driving a manual, try to make sure your gear changing is
seamless. This way, you won't make your passengers car-sick. It
helps on FC too.
Don't let your gf/bf hold your left hand while you are driving.
Makes gear changing a hassle. Some more must let go his/her hand
slowly for fear of offending him/her. Aiyah, where got time to let
go slowly, right? Especially when the rpm has reached your optimum
rpm for changing gear.
