An enlightened ruler does not worry about people not
knowing him; he worries about not knowing people.
Nothing is harder to see into than people's nature. The
sage looks at subtle phenomena and listens to small voices. This
harmonizes the outside with the inside and the inside with the
outside.
Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered,
those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the
wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to
win.
- Wolong (181 - 234). Orphaned at a very
young age in a time of great political and warring turmoil, he
worked as a farmer by day and self study by night. Because of his
great knowledge, innovative mechanical ingenuity, and legendary
predictions of political affairs, he became well known and was
visited three times before he agreed to advise and fight against
enemies. He overworked to death to serve his master with utmost
loyalty; and even at his death, his enemies would not dare tread on
his State for fear of falling into his great scheming tactics. He
is often called 卧龙先生,but better known as 诸葛亮 and 诸葛孔明 - First Prime Minister
