Need Some Advice on cars

Hi all, me a newie here and need some advice. Me thinking of getting a 2nd hand car.. Budget is about 30 – 35k. Looking at 1300cc or below. Now considering Nissan March, Suzuki Wagon R+, Hyundai Ato…. Any good advice for me in regards to these short listed cars. Pls offer your expert opinion. If you have a better car to advise, pls state it…. Cos I am a first time buyer, need more information from all of u… Tks.

Ask yourself.. What sort of 2nd hand cars are you looking out for? How many more years before scrape do you want? A 8 years old Lancer is good for that amount.. You can go down to those 2nd hand dealers and tell them your budget..

Hi,

I used to drive a Nissan March. Definitely the best among the 3 you listed, but it also meant more expensive.

A 5 yr old Nissan March should still be in the region of 35k i suppose, so it might be a good choice for you.

Errmmm lastly, do not go for an auto car for march as the FC is pretty lousy.

Where can I do my car leather seat? Any good and reasonable price shop to recommend? Juz normal grade of leather will do, think full leather would be expensive.

Went Down to Kaki bukit to check out the cars there. Saw 1 Nissan March. 4 yrs plus more to go. But the dealer want to chop me… Quote 35k and Parf is 10k. which I work out the depreciation will be damn high for 1 litre car (More that 5k). Gonna to check out some more this weekend. Hope for better luck this weekend. Any way, what shoud be the average depreciation for a Nissan March. Saw one ad this week. Selling for 19k which Parf is 10k also. 2 more yrs to go. Any good advice? 5k p/year? That's a killer!

Don't forget to factor in transfer fee, agreement fee, and whatever hidden fee. Get a written agreement on all the fees you should pay.

Read abt cases that buyers were told to pay extra fee after signing the agreement. Pay up or lose the deposit. LL got to pay.

Currently, the depreciation of Nissan March K11 model should be around 4.5K-5K on average. Anything above 5K, you can forget buying it. Try getting directly from owner instead. So no need to pay admin fees.

Most dealers are taking in cars that are more than 5 years old at scrap value minus 5%. So thru buying from owners, both parties are in win-win situation.

If the owner scrap the car himself, LTA will only give him back a piece of PARF paper which can be used to offset when buying a new car. This piece of PARF paper some more got 6 months expiry date.

If the owner sells the car to the dealer, the dealer will pay him cash, and of course will deduct 4%-5% off the scrap value as a kind of processing fee. Dealer will not do free business. They sure want to earn $$$. They give you back hard cash and do you expect them to service you for free.
