She may not get her deposit back.
She did not qualify for political broadcast. Though she is
passionate about national issues and often spoke at Speakers
Corner, she has no political party support. Besides she is
also an FT converted Singaporean who did not serve National
Service. Matured voters would not want such a young MP to
represent them. Other Singaporeans would not want someone who
is torned between love for two countries as their MP.
Hardly anyone attended her rally; it was worse than PAP's
rally.
Only one FT converted
opposition Singaporean became MP in the history of Singapore
politics. He is Dr Chen Show Mao (Oxford, Harvard and
Stanford graduate) who was a Rhodes
Scholar, was top
student at the 1979 A Levels, who was already interested in
serving people since students' days (was the President of Students
Council at NJC) and
served National Service in Singapore.
So may god bless her that she would get back her deposit.
Radin Mas is a tough SMC to win. NSP went full force
out there in 2011 but only got 32.9% of the votes. It was
their worst performing district in 2011.
I would think Reform Party would get more votes there so she may
lose the $14500 she got from donors. If Reform Party could
get 20.4% of the votes there, her deposit is gone.
