When is next GE?

In the past, ppl keep saying about 2016. But it seems likely it's going to be in 2015. There were some job postings by Election Dept recently and the contract period is only 1 year. So, based on that, it's likely to be 2015.

But which part of the year?

Just have to look at the big wayang being played out by PAP now i.e. getting bigger and bigger with their SG50 campaign. Get everybody's patriotism up and strike while the rod is hot!

my bet is right after NDP, probably in Oct or Nov 2015.

I am not the least surprised if they bring forward the election date ........ looking at the way they wayang now.

Election in 2015 or 2016, pap will still continue to win ....... unless majority of daft sinkies make a turn to give others a chance like what taiwanese voters recently did. Bravo, taiwanese! Typical ks ks daft ones fear new govt to take over, their first love is still pap.

There is nothing for me to look forward to, it is going to be status quo again. Congrats to self serving pap in advance.

If majority who are daft vote to create a destiny which we do not want this spwak a lot abiut what sort of these daft ones are. These daft ones already predicted if other party takes over there will be chaos. They reject the saying "nothing venture, nothing gain".

I only wish the GRCs can be the same as Planning Areas. Then if there's any GRC events don't have to go to another part of Singapore (eg. Jurong West to Chua Chu Kang). Also better for GRC master plans. If take away the boundaries within Planning areas, we can have synchronised cycling tracks, same newsletter throughout...

other than that, what's the purpose of having politics in local level?

Politics is about national level.

If an Opposition party wants to really win, it has to be strong (have strong measures/policies and strong spirit/system) and take part in every GRC and SMC, and win most GRCs and SMCs. Otherwise, if only win a GRC or two SMCs, it's not going to have much impact.

Unless the cabinet change it's style to allow opposition members to take on minister roles. However, currently, only the ruling party members are in the cabinet.

Well, just my two cents worth.

I was born in year 1996. Even if election is in next year, I also not eligible to vote yet. :p
