RP's rally last night
When it comes to most people who have a famous father, they try
to step out of that famous father's shadow and try to be their own
person.
But the way I see it, is looks as though both Kenny in
particular and RP in general are doing their darndest to invoke
JBJ's legacy. For example, quoting from the article:
Kenneth Keyaratnam: "This morning I almost pulled out of
this rally. Sometimes you must know when to get out of a fight. But
police made assurances of safety for you and us. I remembered who I
am -- the son of JBJ!"
And also: Party chairman Zhu said Jeyaretnam is a "chip off
the old block" and he possessed the same courage fearlessness and
sense of justice as his late father.
A lot of people respected your father, Kenny. But respect is
something that has to be earned - it is not something that can be
inherited.
I would have more respect for the son of a famous man who tries
to be his own person than one who tries to capitalize on his
father's creds every chance he gets.
