Okie one thing about NTUC's insurance. I believe all of us have
the right to know. It is that they have this 'lowest bidder'
system.
Basically, when you kena accident, NTUC will send your vehicle to
IDAC to assess all the repairs needed. After that IDAC will send
out this list to all their workshops and the repair will be awarded
to the lowest bidder. My concern, is such a system good? Will
quality be compromised?
Secondly, if you decided to send back to KAH MOTOR (say if you buy
a HONDA) or your authorised dealer for repair and the cost is
$2000. NTUC will pay only up to the lowest bidder. So if NTUC's got
a lowest bid for your car at $1500, you will have to top up the
$500 yourself.
Overall, I would agree that as long you drive safely, NTUC is the
best becos the cheapest but think abt it, in the first place, you
buy insurance to have a peace of mind in case of accident, so why
put urself thru problem should accidents arise?
Anyway, I am sourcing around insurance for new car...I got a quote
of 1743 from NTUC and I am looking for others to compare.
For new licence holders, register under your dad is ok but you will
be losing your NCD and also I am not sure whether if the car is in
your name, can the insurance be in your dad's name? (anyone can
advise?). If cannot, then when your P PLATE period over, it will be
damn costly to transfer the name of the car to urself and then the
insurance will be expensive anyway becos it will be considered the
first time you own car.
Anyway, its not just Honda Cars insurance expensive. It is the type
of cars u drive. You try driving a MITSUBISHI EVO and tell me the
insurance is cheap hahaha...anyway, all 2 door cars or car with sun
roofs will be a bit more expensive in insurance.
