Wat type of petrol shld i use? 95 or 98

well, few engines can really utilise the power of 98, not much of a difference one loh….just gimmicks.

98.... use of 95 will be like tremenous lost of power on a ESI... especially those mod ones..... but once in a while shld be okie lar....

The higher the octane number, the better the fuel's resistance to knocking (when fuel in the cylinder burns spontaneously, wasting fuel and causing damage to your engine).

RON 92 is safe for older Japanese cars....minimum recommended number is RON 95 for newer cars. RON 98 is just a little more expensive.

Your owner’s manual should have some information on the fuel you have to use too.

wow.. icic.. but i think its all in the mind lah.. use 98 like more power den 95 like not enuf lidat.. gues price difference not really that much as well.. so will stick to 98 for now as many say it will have less carbon than lower octane levels.. helps the car parts last longer perhaps.. Surprised

Actually, winding down the windows will slow down the car, Coz air resistance is increased, coz the air flow layers are no longer flowing smoothly around the car. And the air flows into the car compartment causes turbulences which again increases air resistance.

Ideally, the car should slice through the air as smoothly as possible.

Maybe there is a label on the fuel cap. You can check.

Just follow manufacturer's recommendation. It is the fuel type that they have designed their engine for. Thatz why some pple said pumping higer octanes is just burning away your money.

On the other hand, using too low octanes will have higher chances of "knocking" in the engine (over early combustion) and may damage the engine.

my 2cent contribution:-

my old car -> using 92 ... just a little power loss but use up faster than 95 & 98

lancer 1.6 -> using 95 ... manual recommends 95 and above...it also says in middle east, the same car uses 90 and above .. maybe different in design...

when i use SHELL 95 i achieve higher fuel efficiency but using CALTEX silver, i achieve higher saving discount.

VERDICT:- NEW CAR, NOT MUCH DIFF WHETHER U USE 95 OR 98.
