if you got the dough, go yamaha and start with classical. once
you master that, you can do all the complicated solo shit easy
becos you got the foundation.
some of my (richer) buddies go that route.
me, self taught with help from (late) uncle. i got some help too
when i joined the guitar ensemble when i was in jc to
supplement my limited skillz.
