WS friend used G3 powerbook

for his PPoint, Final Cut Pro, Itunes, browser, Msn messenger and quicktime all at one go. After two - half years. Still doing it, and record of Zero hang state.

The PB laptop with souped-up RAM will be enough for video editing. If you do video editing pretty often, you'll find that your 60/80GB of HD will be gobbled up quite soon. The speed of the HD and it's video graphics will ensure you of speed and power la.

That said, I'm afraid the USER may not handle video editing that well and screwed-up his own hardware. Laughing Twisted Evil

Dun have to purchase external HD when you purchase the PB. Buy only when you need. As much as OS X Tiger is stable, do take precaution to back up your work. I would suggest you get a PB with Superdrive that can burn/read DVD/CD. Reason being that video file size can be quite large and you'll find a Superdrive a heaven sent.

Among the 3 configurations, a 15" PB would be great in terms of portability and power. The 17"PB would be fantastic but the size is not that portable friendly. U can always hook up the PB to a larger monitor if the need arises.

kopiosatu SG

ok, now i think i should at least have plans to start my own website so i can put up my portfolio or somethin...

1) get domain name?
2) find webhost?
3) flash?
4) what functions?

www SG

there are 2 types of web hosting, windows and non-windows.

if you are running asp scripts, then u gotta go with windows.
if you are running on php, perl scripts, then get the other one.

however, if you just want to host plain html pages, either one is just fine. of course, non-windows would be cheaper.

kopiosatu SG

ok, confused.

ASP script? PHP, Perl Scripts???

WHAT IS IT??? Question

kopiosatu SG

ehhh and what does it mean to be non-windows?

M©+square SG

I roughly know which web host to go to. But better to check what exactly you want to achieve thru your Website.

www SG

before i even elaborate further, what do you expect from your website?

purely a home page with information or a site that has functional features e.g. forum, user login and etc?

M©+square SG

Yup. Tell Kopi about it. Mr. Green

www SG

i think its a better for him to tell me what he wants and i tell him what to get.

else i explained A to Z liao and still go back to the above.

M©+square SG

My ideal host and website is

http://www.blaugallery.com
http://www.designchapel.com/

able to hold substainual amount of image files.
And more design based webpage. Mr. Green

Yup Kopi should tell you what he want.
