What I find funny is that here the gahmen is raising the cost of
COE to discourage car ownership due to land shortage (which is
sound).
There it is recruiting new singaporeans enticed by low tax which
alot are affluent and end up pushing the price of COE (more people
more cars bought).
So what happens is that alot of the original singaporeans have
to fork out a higher COE (more competition for COE) or take public
transport which is essentially more crowded because of this.
The question really is if the extra revenue due to the increase
in cost of COE is filtered back to the original Singaporeans.
The reason I say this is because from my perspective, the
original Singaporeans quality of life has deproved to make way for
new Singaporeans.
Paying 90k before purchasing the car...hmm it is obvious that the
government want us to take public transport to prevent
pollution?
