Buy 2nd-hand car, must pay admin fees??

Is it a practice that 2nd hand dealer will charge admin fees when getting a car from them?? They already earn from the sales of the car and why must charge another few hundreds?

Most of them charges $500 which I think too much.

That's right...average charge the buyer $500 admin fee...They said it is the company policy thing...never belive them...

Anyway, try to talk until they waive the admin fee...or buy from other dealer lor....it's buyer market now...

But remember, never sign anything until they agreed to wavied....I had a friend who just got his driving license...blur blur own self go car-mart to test drive.....sign the dotted line..then the dealer said there is a $1500 admin fee....talk and fight until go to CASE...then the dealer agreed to lower the admin fee to $1000....LL...got to pay...

Beware of Dis-honest dealer...economic and market are bad now....

buyer also pay the transfer fee of the car, rite.... so check carefully... there is another thread to recommend "good" dealer....

but i never believe... they sure wan to 'ketok" us.....pple earning a living mah.... Very Happy

When we buy 2nd hand car, we already need to come out about $600-$900 LTA transfer fees for a 1-2 years old car ... and especially Honda cars got the highest transfer fees, I wonder why??? .... and got to pay dealer another $500 for admin fees and lastly the insurance ... this total up can be about up to $3K ...

They already mark up around at least $4K-$6K for a 1-3 years old Japanese car for example .... and yet want to earn admin fees (tak-kew money) ..... now when new car price is cheaper, no wonder so many of them got to close shop ...

those car dealer always take in the older car at scrap value and 3~5% as admin charge from the owner first... then they sell it at another margin to another buyers....

know they have risk if they can sell but if they can find a buyer fast...they make alot man! Rolling Eyes
