from what i understand and some of the interactions with the high flyers that i've met(probably not as high as some of the ppl you guys have met) things like A level are just small things to them. Its is not that they cant remember but probably too "insignificant" to rmb. It his story is true, not many ppl could really have understand how he felt.

You learn so much from interacting with global talents and being inward-looking gets you no where.

My point is that, if you can't show that you can match these people, getting a CAP 4.8 makes you an underachiever then.

i tink he probably felt he is good and yet even he is good, he felt that better treatment was going to those foreign 2nd rate talents who aint even better than him. So he probably questions "why are ppl lousier than me getting better stuffs"

well... yes there are first rate foreigners... but there also are 2nd rate foreigners enjoying very good treatment. You may enjoy being with first rate foreigners but probably not the 2nd/3rd rates. and they are just getting more and more.

they are many local talents there who are waiting for financial support to complete their university education, why should we let the few arrogant idiots to pick and choose while others are deprived of such opportunities?

LOL!! so instead of letting local arrogant idiots pick and choose, we let foreigners come in and pick and choose + get things free... end result is that arrogant or not, singaporeans still lost the chance. lol... yea i cant varify since i dun work inside there :) but when i look at the general trend it seems that way i guess. As for the not sure about his own A level results. If im really a high flyer uni students, i probably wont rmb my A level result too.

Even he was surprised that it was a relative shoo-in.

I remember my Bachelor's point average and honours class (from 4 years ago), A Level results (11 years ago), O Level results (13 years ago) and PSLE results (17 years ago).

If he can't remember his own A Level results.... that makes him a liability.

A HUGE one.

being not bothered to check things, no matter how simple by flipping some files, checking old records is a liability...

hard to get anywhere with that mentallity...

In the middle of an interview for an academic scholarship? That's a big liability.

At the very least it gives the impression that you're a person who cannot remember simple basic facts about himself.

At the very worst it makes the interviewer think that your certs might have been falsified.

Go figure.
