i dunno what job is chi siang now.. but i am very sure BANKING n related are not very in demand.. maybe sales job? that requires ppl to stand for hrs like r...

a couple of years back, developers are like hotcakes. everyone simply rush into IT..

but today, the IT market is more than just saturated.

what kinda job do u think is demand today? insurance agents? property agents? life science researchers?

with my general degree, my choices are the "soft jobs" (inter-personal-based more than technical)
in a way, can say tt almost ebery industry requires ppl for these soft jobs like customer service, public relations, marketing, policy-making, problem-solving........
i wun say it's an edge......but job opportunities are plenty and there is constant demand.....

IT per se is saturated and now being absorbed into the Info-comm industry.......which i believe, still has room for advancement and opportunities.........

the current big thing is definitely life sciences.....wats next will depend on global trend......
singapore is not known to be a trend-setter but we are bery good followers.....
look out for rally speeches and all that and u will know wat out govt is aiming and promoting next.......

i wasn't talking about overseas. i was talking about inside singapore alone. IT professionals are the most versatile in the sense that they are required in every company of every field and in large quantities.

ya i am from marketing.
but from the trend of outsourcing for human capital,
sooner or later all ppl will work on contact base and will not have much of a AWS soon.....
companies are really kanz.

not all companies have full fledged IT departments, a percent of them outsource their technological projects and operations to IT vendors in a bid to lower headcount, running costs, etc. IT vendors and corporations with core IT functions based locally would then consider relocating (or offshooting) to regions where skilled labor for such cost lesser. A thin analogy would be something like, why do you want to pay 2 developers 6 grand here when you can get 3 in india for doing the same job which isn't geographically critical.
Contractual hiring is also in fashion and that's just another chapter..

which is the same as in any kinds of jobs, not just IT..when all other things are equal, priority is given to more experience..what does it have to do with the fact that it is IT?
