Must wait for Lee Kuan Yew to die and see what happens. Problem is he won't die. He will die la. But some or many prefer him to die as soon as possible. A cr...

with the extent of immigration, we are more likely than taiwan to be the next-in-line special administrative region.

SAR Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore

dont be thick skinned, China don't want us!!!

Will Singapore turn into the next Taiwan.

in what way Singapore can be the next Taiwan?

we are multi racial, multi religion....Taiwan took a long time to handle the 本省人外省人。

we speak half english, half chinese ( together we call it singlish), malay and tamil...they speak perfect mandarin, some hokkien and hakka, and very little english.

Taiwan people knows where their roots and culture even when they were ruled by the japs for many decades, many singaporean thinks they are still english....

How can singapore ever be the next Taiwan?

sgdiehard SG

It is good. Do you know that Taiwan is now doing better than Singapore in every aspects now.

care to elaborate?

Head is bastard, end product will also be influenced and become bastard.

The bastard head must be chopped off in order to rectify the problem.

you need more than just guts to be politicians.

Unfortunately, most PAP politicans are good only at talking about how good the party was, and the oppositions are all very good at talking about helping the poor and listening to the people's voice. Not many have shown they have any idea about handling issues that affect our economy, how to handle our foreign affairs, education system that can really educate our children than simply imparting knowledge for exam, how to narrow the income gap without giving away money, how to get foreigners to work here to relief our businesses here from labour shortage and not taking away our people's jobs....

there is no doubt our oppositions do not have enough good and capable people to manage the country yet, there are many who know how to use our huge reserve though. If that comes the day when all we need is to use our reserve, I will stand for election, whichever party....

Haha yup, we need feasible ideas and see actions done!

winsomeea SG

absolutely no with the presence of the greedy dictatorship PAP.

Taiwan practises democracy which the pariahs and parasites party is against.

Then we will see a lot of fights when the Parliament sits in.

winsomeea SG

Taiwanese are not the only ones that fight in the parliament. Don’;t worry Singapore will not turn into another Taiwan, so continue enjoy your “fair and great” treatment from your beloved PAP.

All I can say is at least the Taiwanese have the guts to vote against what they do not want unlike many hopeless selfish kiasu kia si Sickaporeans here.

Dalforce 1941 SG

The Taiwan hokkien world is an alien world to peranakans like Harry Lee Kuan Yew.

He won't allow Singapore to turn into a Taiwan.

75% chinese but Lee Kuan Yew will never turn Singapore into a chinese state.

Because that chinese world is an alien world to Lee Kuan Yew. He will turn it into banana state.

FOR the Babas, the significance of the new policy was that they no longer had the option to elect Malay as a second school language, but were obliged to study Mandarin, a language which many of them regarded as rather alien.

"My brother thinks the Baba culture is chaotic... it is completely out of touch. You are a Chinese living in a community of Chinese, so how to survive?

Sometimes it is not that we want to vote but we simply do not have the chance to vote for those deserving of a chance to serve us.

Oh ya, so you continue to vote the pariahs , the greedy ones to continue to ruin life here? You are just giving lame excuses. With people like you no wonder we are stuck with PAP.

RenesisTurbo SG

If I am living in a walkover area, how you expect me to vote?

Dalforce 1941 SG

If I am living in a walkover area, how you expect me to vote?

That situation was created by the PAP.

oops, my apology but you did not make it clear in your last post. Walkover is cheating!

RenesisTurbo SG

That situation was created by the PAP.

If that is the case, what can I do?Nothing right?

I was rooting for the WP when the results were announced.

Some colleagues at my office still staunchly believe in the ruling party.

@Win-Its alrite...

Dalforce 1941 SG

Maybe the 60% are the elites who voted for them?

Some still think they are the real deal.

winsomeea SG

Maybe the 60% are the elites who voted for them?

Not all are elites. Some of these are old folks, grassroot people, people who do not want change for better . . . . , civil servants.
