so, in your view, who are looking at the surface?
lots of people..
they want things and they want it now.. but forget the cost to
them in the future...
sort of like the new casinos gave us a GDP boost which resulted
in the MIW giving themselves a nice bonus but the people will be
paying for that in terms of more loansharking, more crime, more
bankruptcy...
and i do know what it is like being kicked around by their
gerrymandering... i was from a single ward constituency surrounded
by places like Clementi, West Coast, Bukit Batok, Jurong East and
somehow my constituency was Bukit Timah..
then it got absorbed into the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC.. then now
we got redrawn into the West Coast GRC..
all within 3 elections..
we're like the red-headed stepchild to be kicked around...
so... basically, look to what the politicians you elected can do
for the people.. and i don't mean just providing amenities.. those
things can be done by anybody as long as they have a good and
effective civil service to make it happen... what i mean is for the
politicians elected to lead the country towards a goal which is
more than just the unrelenting pursuit of material gain at all
costs..
that will ultimately cost the country its soul...
