Hi,

I am new to this forum and hope to get some help. I intend to get a "cheap" second-hand small cc car like the kancil or vivio. Is it worth it to buy either of these 2 cars and how much do i hav to pay per month for them? Tks!

well if u want a really cheap small car u should buy the second hand vivio as subaru dont sell them anymore of if u want a brand new small cc car u should buy a 850 cc kancil,their goddamned light and if u fully modify the 850cc Kancil, they can even peel rubber.So, i suggest buying a 850cc kancil and fully mod it and the servicing is very cheap and u can service in m'sia.
Or if u still want a more powerful car, u can buy the Kelisa(1000cc) and mod it.The Kancil cost $59,800 for the auto version while the Kelisa may cost around $60k

Tks! But close to 60K is quite ex leh. Do you know around how much a second-hand vivio or kancil can cost? Is it worth it to buy a second-hand one?

Well, my opinion is that maybe u go for a new car is u want trouble-free driving for the 1st couple of years...but if u do not want long term commitment, dun buy brand new small car...bcos u cant resell it and u will be stuck with it!

But on the other hand, buying a Vivio, u must be sure it is less than 10 yrs...then u can scrap the car when 10 yrs is up...Never buy a after 10 yrs car now....if not when u sell, u might have to lose $$ or nobody want to buy from u...

Tks for the info! I am on a tight budget but wan a car as travelling to work is very far(from sengkang to jurong). Do you think a second-hand small cc car say with 3-4 yrs left will burn a hole in the pocket? Budget of $700-$800 per mth for instalment, road tax, parking and insurance,etc… is it enough?

Oh, sorry i quoted u the wrong price.
Anyway buying a second hand car and new car have its pro and cons.
Like if u want a second hand vivio or kancil,it is cheap to buy but the engine may require alot of repairs and if u choose a new car,it may be expensive but is trouble-free.
Well,it is up to u whether to spent alot of money first and saving later or buying a cheap one and start reapiring it in the long run.I suggest buying a Daihatsu YRV manual,it only cost $59,888 inclusive of COE and it is quite a fast car. Very Happy

Oh comeon! dont be so money-minded, u cant buy a really cheap car and dont repair it and dont worry about the kelisa spoiling after 10 yr but of corse it will spoil sometime.

ok ok…tks! i think i will start looking at the used car prices for vivio and kancil b4 deciding whether to get a new 1000cc car or not…must also think of the pros and cons of buying a used car…if buying for a few mths then spolit, then i still hav to fork out $$ to repair, it will not be worth it…
