Well, if one grc is being won by opposition, then that tc will be man by the opposition right? Then pple will be able to guage for the next 5 years how opp able to run the show or not. That is very critical moment for the opp. If not, the next ge will be doom for the opp.

TC is runned by whoever takes charge winning the election.

Now the civil service is another issue, they're runned whoever it's the govt. However, it's policies in some issues esp i.e. defence, housing, finance, transportation is well affected by politics

Personally, I find some of the TC staff and grassroots members have attitude problems. In front of mps, they act like they do their jobs. Mp gone, they turn into sleeping mode.

TCs are snobbish and look down on poor Singaporeans. They think they will always have the backing of wealthy pap.

PAP with their "proven track record" are complacent. They do their job, but they take their time.

The WP must work hard to show not only can they do the job, but can do it better.
