CHECK SUMMONS STATUS ONLINE
FROM next Monday, the 1.2 million people here who hold a driving
licence will be able to go on the Net to check the status of
outstanding summonses against them as well as any demerit points
they have.
Anyone applying for a photocard licence can check the status of his
application, while foreign drivers can find out if they have
committed any traffic offences here.
About 300,000 summonses are issued to Singaporean and
foreign-registered vehicles every year, said a police spokesman.
About 5,000 issued last year have yet to be settled.
The public can access the Electronic Driver Data Information and
Enquiry System at www.ecitizen. gov.sg or www.spf.gov.sg
