ASX and SGX now want to merge. So I was thinking what if one day Singapore become overpopulated and decide to merge with Australia ?

Best of both worlds, Singapore got skilled labour and Australia got resources and land.

What do you think? I think it is good for Singaporeans although I cannot speak the same for the Australians.

There will be problems with merger because Australia is a country more incline to human rights. Singapore has to repel the death sentence and Australia have to absorb Singapore different working culture. If merfer happens, Australia don't need to bring in more migrants because they have ready supply of skilled labour from Singapore. For Singapore, the casinos and beaches will be new haven for Ozzie tourists.

australians are not ready.come back in 90 years later...then their attitude would have changed.currently their politicians say singapore is a nation of serfs as their monthly salary of average executive sporeans are worse than macdonald workers and even worse than cleaners butchers and road sweepers in oz.and they dont want to be a part of spore by shouting and kicking during parliament disscusion when the oz stock exchange wanted to do business with spore stock exchange etc etc etc.

Pinoy staff are worse. The other day I was at cedele, and ordered a drink, the server asked if I wanted "hart, or eyes?" Yeah, go figure that out.

Are you crazy? Merge with Malaysia. You haven't seen the working culture there. A lot of egoistic and lazy ones. They will create all sorts of story and boycott you if you are the minority race. And then some minorities are forced to behave like one of them in order to comply and so it doesn't make it look so racial.

I would rather Singapore merge with Somalia than Malaysia.
