Back to topic, Singaporeans need to learn a bit from Taiwanese, concentrate on sports that their citizens are passionate about and nurture it, instead of going for quick fixes just to get that hollow gold.

There's only really 2 ways you can become a Singapore, one is through birth which you have no choice or control when your parents decided to give birth to you in Singapore.

Another is by choice over migration purpose, which you have total control whether you want to embrace Singapore as your motherland.

No need to take Gopalan Nair too seriously, he was probably high from curry over-dose at the time of writing.

in taiwan, fighting makes frens, it is a different culture, you see those peoples fighting at bar or pub or parliament, later they become good buddies, unlike singapore, fight until die, the hatre still never let go, still keep inside for life, really pity Singaporeans. Never learn to let go, so emotional in everything, lucky most of us taiwanese go for nunnery class and learn more about life, i think singapore should start doing it, otherwise i see most, rich or poor, living in a stressful and alway dissatisfy life.

I never caught up with the news recently, only remembered before it started, alot of countries pulled out of the games reason being the location not up to scratch. As to whether they participated later on, I'm not so sure. So if they didn't participate, who are the competition for singapore?

It will be better to send a few clubs to play in M league if our S league is still not up to standard. So far can only see Etoile FC really make an impact, other than that, nothing.

shame! u want to talk about shame, ask your PAP govt, our ministers or even President have to admit mistake, serve fine and prison term if they did wrong, but yours is different, the more mistake a minister or PM makes, the more pay increases. Shame or not?

i was so happy last night watching M'sia easily demolishing S'pore in the badminton men's doubles.........

the 2 Indonesians representing S'pore didn't even BOTHER TO TRY HARD...............

nowadays...........BAD NEWS for S'pore.............is GOOD NEWS for me..................

Why not use it to groom local talent ?

I dun blame the foreign players as they are here to earn a living and retired later back in their home country.

So, the medals were bought with a price.

A price in grooming foreign players and forgetting the local players on the local account.

Victory bought with money felt empty to all locals, but, it achieve the kpi standard and earn bonuses for another group of locals.
