Balcony for drying cothings in HDB flats

I suggest the idea to the govt so that HDB can implement my idea.I know there is a cost but the more important question is whether it is needed.

If I am not wrong, there are implaction if HDB is to built blacony for you just to dry cloth, firstly, it is a cost, are you going to foot the bill? are the residents in your place agree with you to built balcony just for drying cloth?

Secondly, if it is a share balcony, problem like lost of underwear and clothing will be another issue

Thirdly, issue of water dripping on balcony and residents argueing over who should take this place and who should not take your place etc etc..thing like this is my terriotry and that is yours, etc etc will create a war in your blocks

After washing & drying by w. machine, ppl still need to dry their clothes.

When one doesn't have a good place to dry his clothes,so he make use of his balcony to do it.

My suggestion is a balcony mainly for drying clothes.It would likely to be at the back of the flat and near the kitchen.

PRP........there is such a thing call....a Full pledge Dryer that does not need further drying....

Since the weather is hot nowaday, just dry it in yr bedroom or living room lah, as the cloth dry, it abosrb the heat of the room, so, in a sense, it act as a cooler too, u can save aircon and fan bills by lowering it...this is what we called cheap, better and faster ya...Singaporeans..haiz!,...totally lackof innovation

I think HDB should build balcony for drying clothing or eaves to prevent drying clothings water dripping from top floor to lower level. Do you want this? Do you think HDB residents want this kind of upgrading?

Don't you know how most ppl dry their clothing?

Why want to waste money to buy blower machine when there are many sunnys days in this country?

Are you the one to suggest to the HDB the service balcony? They have this about 10 years ago. Can hang laundry, install washing machine, and dryer, sometimes the maid lives there too, with the pet dog.

The older flats have the tube bamboo poles holders outside, and ceiling rack inside, over the kitchen sink.

If the HDB built eaves, to protect laundry against dripping from above, would not these eaves block the sun? And collect litter dropped from above?

Their laundry must be very expensive ones, need a balcony to air dry! Interesting, how cum our MPs didn't think of it? Prevent bamboos and maids from flying down.

What i suggest is just a balcony big enuf to for drying clothing

Eaves can collect litter but the litter is from the same flat -- not from the flat above.

I didn't describe my suggestion very detailedly,then you can't understand.I think my idea is very simple but it is very difficult to you.

It should be a balcony in front of the kitchen with access from the kitchen.

If it is a good idea,of course HDB will implement it.The HDB upgrades the bamboo pole holders to one which has hole at the bottom so it won't collect water inside.The idea I believe was suggested by someone in this forum.

in fact, i got a worker here whose HDB flat was upgraded with a balcony, he told me it is a co payment, HDB paid half, he paid half, to build a balcony, and it cost $40,000 per house, so HDB deducted 20k from his CPF or for those not enuf, thru installment, actually he was very reluctant to upgrade, but his blocks residents, after a nice dinner and celebration by the MPs and all those carrying boss RC members, voted to get it upgraded.

Now he lost 20k in his CPF and yet get a small balcony..even his dog also cannot move about inside this small balcony...and all the residents also regretted, so i hope you understand the implication of asking for this and that from HDB, they will ask you to pay then use cheap material and con you.

Contractors for HDB projects don't use cheap material. They don't dare.

Private condminium projects, yes, they use inferior material, mediocre workmanship, and con you out of big bucks. They sell you an impression.
