if there's anyone in spore who qualifies to be out of a job. i am one of them. yest what you wrote have some truth. i hate floor traps. i tried to love them and gave them chances again and again but again and agina they failed to earn my love. they are the type who see you weak will come eat you. they i see them no up because they can do anything just for 1 dollar. see last time 7th month they see mecollect my pail of goodies and they seat there like a beggar waiting for me to give them my stff. so i pity them give them the cooking oil and canned fruits and oyster source. beggars tthey anyhow introduce got friend can already totally not professional at all.

I think Singaporeans are spoilt by our schooling system.

It is compulsory for children here to go to school. For first ten years the child is given whatever he/she needed.

This set most of them on a mental frame that things ought to be handed to them. That things ought to be done for them.

They move into adulthood with this attiude that life should be easy, and expect the governent take over where the parents left off. Now they want to government to make things easier for them. To hand out the goodies like their parents did when they were kids. Sorry. There is no easy meal. Some have woken up, some are still balking. You have to go hunt, farm, fish, pluck, gather, trade, make, help, i.e. do whatever is necessary to get your next meal. This has remained unchanged from the caveman days. Only the things we do have changed.

Work we must. But honestly do we like to work? Can Singapore be like Japan, and keep the island exclusively for Singaporeans only. Our service standard sucks, period.

How many different types enterprises can exist in Singapore if the labour pool is strictly Singaporean only. What will your complains be if that were the case? Uncles and aunties everywhere, bo chap you require their service? The factory so dated, no progress?

come on lah let's face it. the reason why many industries moved out of sg is more than just due to high labor costs lah. you can invte more peears and floortraps but when everything hist rock bottom see what will happen to sg. our wages keeps getting lower and lower and proices of everything keeps getting higher. if gahmen had seen what is the root cause and work on improving or turning around the situaiton by hitting the porblem where it really was then things would not be like this. thank god i will not stick around to see what the future will be like for sg

That is entire on mindset, i understand, older peoples tend to fix and set their mind and reluctant to accept changes, the so call old fashion concept or simply stubborn mentality.

Singapore had gone thru different status of economy, from low cost industries, like making brush, pens, shampoos, to high tech industries like Computer chips, wafer fab, oil rig buidling, bio science, pharmacy etc etc, to a knowledge economy on financial, services, etc etc and today, a global economy. All along we are at the forefront of others, our govt is good in pre emptive measure to see the outcome, LKY is like a fortune teller in term of foreseening the future. Our govt study indept into the appropriate outcome of our society and economy, from here, they make policies to make us ready for the anticipated outcome. We are typically in a global knowledge economy, if you are still pondering around with beggar and low wage NTS workers, you had missed the bus to glory completely.

Govt provided millions into education and skill upgrading, making education a must for all ages thru many initiatives that make the cost of education afforadable or for senior citizens, it can be free.

At a lowest unemployment rate of today, if you are telling me, as a singaporeans, you are out of job, my only concern is that you simply refuse to work, because you hate this, you hate that, you dun like this and dun like that and as time goes by not having job, sit in the room think think and think until maddness set in. Set your mind free, be gracious to accept, forgive and forget, get a job and life will be better with less stupid hallucinating thinking.

Industries that move out are low product industrial, like paint, soap, detergent, biscuit, food etc etc...today we are more on higher technology, financial and tourist industries, you need to see the changes, if we are to stick to those low cost industries, which had move to thailand, malaysia or vietnam or even china, we are doom.

Singapore is currently been the best economy in the world, at the end the year we could be beating china in term of growth, without considering year to year growth. We are hot on the run that the govt is worry about overheating, so what are talking about problem, what is the problem, in fact the govt is moving 5 years ahead of us in thinking, we had waved the worst economic recession of all time and come out strong, steady and better off whereby most of the west are still struggling...STI on bull run ya, and so are our GDP

i don;t belief truely n statistics. in my course of employment i report many KPIs. and its very easy. to anticipate and distribute of tweak figures or foresee any impending disrruption so that every month my report of situation is superb. b ut actually its not mroe like manipulated. but when it is inevitable to rpeort the worse, i always think of reasons to cover it, with amazing englisg words.

Look guys, there is never a perfect world, perfect God, perfect person, and certainly, a perfect Govt, so relax, having this govt is consider a blessing for us, of course they are not perfect but at least better than most, we have to weight such differences and remind ourselves, are we being blessed?

Be it intrinsic or extrinsic, let happiness come naturally, you dun really need to make happiness if you understand what is true happiness.

In which group of representation you think you are for in claiming the blessing for all? The lowest income group? Those got retrenched at 40s but cannot find job and yet a whole family to feed? Those old and sick but can only choose death as the option? Or those who live in bungalow, condo, terrace, drive big car and 2 to 3 cars parked at home at the sametime? No single meals cost less then $50?

Inequality happen everywhere, you can never seek a fairness in all thing, even the communist cannot survive a fairness world, so dun talk about other wealth and poor condition. A man had to have his own bread and butter, his own way of earning a living and certainly his own way happiness. Govt can provide only the resources such as training, set the conditions, the environment, laws and orders to help citizens in the lower category. There should not be a spoonfeeding society that ultimately destroy a man egos and fighting spirit.

Frankly, is there people in singapore hunger to dead, no house to live in, no cloth to wear, no school to go to, no training to go to, no help to go to...i do not think so, govt had created so much insitutions that help both the lower group which consist of ony 20% to higher than paid thru upgrading and placement of job. But sad to said, many are not forthcoming, so if you dun help yourself, no body can help you. Having said all, I am no PAP, but certainly thru my little years of experiences in travelling and learning journey, I have no doubt, that Singapore govt had done a fine enough job, tho not perfect, but much better than others.
