Saigon embassy,
US seemed loss its will and ability to have any influence in
Asia.
First, the
fear of Viet to invade other SEA countries, so
called domino effect.

younger son
might leave SG!
My parents called a family meeting in their bedroom soon after
Saigon fell(LN note-1975). My father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, then
Singapore’s Prime Minister, told us: ‘Mama and I will stay here to
the bitter end. Hsien Loong is already in the SAF and must do his
duty. But the three of you
need not feel obliged to stay.’

Second, wat if China invaded SEA countries?
In 1979, Viet invaded Cambodia , as far as Thai boarder.
Fortunately, Viet's invasion was pulled back by China's invasion
into Viet!
i dunt know what would happen if China advanced further into
Thai,
through much weaker Loas and Cam?
The combined force of Thai and MY might not able to hold
PLA,
not to mention the flimsy SAF in 1979,compared with then
PLA!
3. Convert
joint operation against Viet force in Cambodia

fight with Viet force.
He visited to Thai boarder with Cam,where Viet artillerty

the money bought ammo, weapons, comm. equipments etc.
He did not mention any SG SAF involved in combats.
4. dunt take
peace for granted
some SG pple and even some opposition say SG defense budget is
too high.
well, look at history,u will pay a much higher price if u dunt
spend enough in defense.
Like the Chinese saying go
