what kind of car should i get?

i'm currently driving a Mazda323, and planning to "upgrade" to a better car.

i've in mind the following cars:
1. hyundai coupe
2. toyota celica
3. subaru WRX

as you can see from the choices i've made, i'm into "chiong" and fanciful car. but nevertheless, can someone here pls enlighten me on which of the above is the best for money and perfomance?

also, i've scourged the entire singapore toyota website but cant find anything on its celica. i just want to know how much it cost, and am i correct to say it's about $100k?

finally, assuming i do get a $100k+ car, do they allow Zero-downpayment and 10years loan?
what are the possible implications if i do choose this option?

if i can afford about $1400/mth (inclusive of mthly installment, petrol, parking, etc), what sort of car do you think it's the best? i'm not a SUV or hatchback person, pls ADVICE!

Hyundai = 2 seaters? (Tuscandi is that the spelling for their coupe now?)
Subaru WRX = 4 seaters
Toyota Celica = 2 seaters?

$1,400... $150 for parking monthly (inclusive of seasons) $400 for petrol (chiong need more petrol) $200 for road tax and insurance (average out), $100 for maintanence (average out). You are left with $550. Uhm... probably hyundai with a 10 year loan is a good idea.

Celica is around 110k, I may by wrong. The car is short in performance, but it is a love it/hate it car. Taste is subjective afterall.

Many will recommend you WRX, cause hp may be what people matters most.

Based on your options, i would say the rex. Why dun you do a comparison, torque per dollar and bhp per dollar... ?

As per Zie said, bhp is impt but you should consider torque too...

errr .... sorry to break your bubbles so you can come back to reality ...

Sillycar and Hyundai are 2 sitter car and eventually it is harder to sell later on ... and WRX is a performance car and most of my business partners or clients are in to chiong but they refuse to buy 2nd hand boxer engine cars because they PERCEIVE they leak black oil after 3 to 4 years ...

Looking back .. i used to drive a cooper and you know how hard is it to sell it?!!! Damn hard ...

i would advise you to get some chion-ster car with 4 doors and least the market bad perception so that you can sell the car in the future if you want to change .... if you are looking at those range that you have posted i would advise you to try a second hand Skyline 4dr or an second hand stock Evo ....

thanks for all the advice, but just need to point out something.

hyundai coupe (tuscani) is a 4 seater car, and i can be very confirmed about this cos i went to the showroom and c b4.

celica is also a 4-seater... at least, that's what i saw when i encountered 1 in a carpark. heard frm someone that the dashboard looks like the one you find in a lorry, but have to re-confirm again when i do test drive it. the backside a bit farnie, though...

my commitment of $1400 per mth, its only for the petrol+parking+installment only, insurance and road tax come already then say.
so does this means that my choices are wider now? or still the same?

i wld love to get an Evo too, but i've calculated and it's like $1800-$2k per month excluding saving up for road tx and insurance rite? cant afford lar...

and is it true that the wrx's insurance is $5k for a driver with 6 years experience?

The fuel consumption of performance car is very high.... If u intend to buy from the choices.... WRX will be a gd choice.... if u are thinking of racing on tracks.... WRX will outstands out of this three cars.... Wink cost wise WRX again win..... (this car is with turbo)
But design wise.... I think both celica and tunisa will outstand.... more of a girl attractor car..... Wink Wink

4 seaters are different from 2+2, so you got to be careful of that one.

So budget wise, you got $800+ per your installment. A little down payment about 10k and you should be able to get your WRX on a tight budget.

Insurance is also based on the type of cars (sedan/coupe/antique) not just the age and oh.. occupation(fine prints here).

is it true that korean cars such as hyundai and kia doesnt work well after 2-3years? i have heard many ppl complaining about this and well,true,i saw alot of advertisement selling their korean cars off cheaply

WRX not so cheap..... I down around 19K and per installment close to $1k Wink Now might be a bit cheaper... but it is ard there.....

thanks for all the feedback people, but considering:

1. i've only 3 years driving experience;
2. i'm only 26 this year;
3. i can only save like about $10k max for the down by the time i change to another car;
4. the fact that i think i'm asking too much when buying a car;
5. the fact that i'm a bit too rash here...
6 the fact that this sickening idiot drove past a blue Evo7 in front of me about half hour ago, and spike me...

i guess i'll stick to the celica first, and work my way up slowly to the Evo hopefully by the time i'm 30. Laughing
