Whenever I read the chinese papers in malaysia, it is
common to see commentaries comparing the BN
government with PAP. The article would talk about the merits
of PAP such as being highly efficient, corruption free
etc... and how the BN government can emulate the PAP
government...It seems to me that the malaysian chinese
media thinks highly of the PAP government..
The few malaysian chinese friends I knew are also critical of
the BN government. A lot of them are envious of us for having
a 'world class government'. They like the fact that the PAP
practices 'meritocracy' and 'treats every races
equally'.
I can't help but feel that they would be happier if one day the
SAF can capture the entire malaysia and with the PAPPY replacing BN
as the federal government...
I don't think that's entirely true..ask any minority singaporean
who's lived here for years and they'll tell u otherwise..in fact
the PAP party has had a long standing agenda for years in
marginalising the various races and keeping them in check..
As for the malaysian chinese they probably won't feel any of
this..being chinese themselves they wld assimilate into Singapore
comfortably..
