LKY works in a way by saying that, "Money is like a car, if you
just park it there, it will depreciate and get rusted by itself"
You need to make full use of it, and the only way, is invest, put
up your car for rental, put you money and invest." So, he
started GIC, even if he didn't invest, we also get nothing but
merely some saving to help our NS operations, by investing, he sees
billions not millions, but billions ya. He sees lots of profit
coming in, those will the heyday when he can still swim and have a
good cabernet Aussie wine.
Ironically, i agree to some peoples who i spoke to, said that
with many thinkers and financial experts in GIC, why they forseen
the crisis looming and didn't put on the hand brakes, the answer
is, GIC had been gaining all along that complacency took over the
mindset of them, everything America sure to make money, be it Citi
Merilyn etc etc...sure to make money. Then it hit, we lost a great
deal of our profits gained, but to LKY it is a
lesson learnt, we are not as shrewd and clever as the western
investor, in fact this is one of the reason that Temasek decided to
employ Goodyears, to tap on his experiences, but why Goodyears left
i not so sure, i heard is was because the American take Goodyears
as a betrayer, he should be standing on the west side and try to
pry those profits we gain from them back again. So, out of such
pressure, Goodyears decided to give up, because he cannot run a
show with enemity on the other side of the pacific, which is his
homeland.
The troubles that a Taiwanese 'hum' faced is due to its stupidity
and simple minded abilities as a 'hum'.
Only it will believe that money can be like a car, parked there
to rust.
If one treasure a car, it will be parked in a proper garage and
given responsibility to a car washer to keep it in original
pristine condition.
Only a fool like the Taiwanese 'hum' will suck and swallow
every bit of the garbage that a wily LKY will produce to con
the dumb brain of a Taiwanese 'hum' eager to be but can be no more
then a pseudo-Singaporean.
Stop making excuses for LKY, PAP and the GIC - the fact remains
clear.
Arrogance in itself being perpetually correct and refusal to
listen was the reason for the present situation in the GIC - as it
is in the PAP Government in Singapore.
Return to Taiwan and serve Taiwan with your Taiwanese 'hum'
brain to face the challenge from Mainland China.
Singapore and Singaporeans can do without you.
