eh, probably the rb20det (something like dat) found in the silvia lah. the rb26dett is too large to fit into the sunny engine bay longitudinally or laterally. think the set up might be similar to the x-trail (ie, laterally mounted) which effectively, makes it possible to give the sunny an AWD platform though, a FF config is more easily obtainable. heard from somewhere also that this particular sunny exists. Shocked

The Silvia is using SR20DET, and I agree with your analysis. And I won't be surprised if it exists, in which case I'm not very interested, because it has been done long ago in other countries e.g. Australia. In fact the US has a model with a FWD configuration (it's called Sentra there, not Sunny), you can easily buy that engine off eBay.

Hey man ... what gearbox is he using i dun know ... as i say earlier dun know whether is a dett or a det ... is something similar to the ones that the old cefiro has (i think or thats what i heard).

Arranging for a meetup is a must, in fact i also want to meet him badly too but i have called him and his cell seems not working ... but i will try my best brisance.

At the matter of my age, i don't think you have to know. the matter is i am old enough to hold a PPCDL Smile and a Class 3 Smile

but seriously, the SR20DET (thanx for clarifying brisance Wink ) when mounted laterally, hardly looks any diff from the stock sunny engine, more so if u put the plastic valve cover over the engine. dun think the LTA guys would bother 2 inspect the weird snail lookin thingy stickin out from the exhaust manifold either Rolling Eyes they got prob with civics only i guess.

Once sit in my friend 1.6 manual corolla n happen to stop at traffic light.Another corolla came,fully loaded with pple.My friend tio smoke in the end...abt 5 cars lenght..suspect that guy got a 1.8L under his hood...

1.New civic can be a monster too...can be as fast as sir...
2.EK version can mod til on par as rex...NA only..not turbo charged...
3.Impreza TS can be a monster also..with 2L,2.4L boxer engine....

EK version mod can or may out run a REX on stock boost.... as stock boost will cut at 0.5.... EG6 also another monster.....
hahahh TS cannot lar.... unless the owner is willing to spend on mod..... if he change to 2L or 2.5L he will need to change the whole configuration..... like this will cause him more than a STI.... i think the only thing that he can retain are the steering wheels and the body.....
