In China or the places you quote they do have bad wages, but
they have tons of space. They dont have to pay exorbitants amounts
of money just to buy a 3 or 4 room pigeon hole, they just move to
the country side.
Asking a Singaporean to take a job with the same amount of pay
is absurd, considering the housing loan, utilities bill is freaking
high, A foreigner would just have to rent a room or house with a
few lads, thrift like hell and in the end of the day the money is
not going back to our economy, but back to their country, And when
they earn enough or had enough, they didi-mau back to their country
to rear livestock or a farm.
What do Singaporeans have to retreat to? A tent in East Coast
beach?
Talking about that, reminds me of a FT complaining about the
high cost of living here. High in rental, food
and essentials. He is seriously considering to get his
company to post him to other country.
