Hmmm not sure if you know the location and condition of a 1 bedroom flat? Have you actually visited those flats behind people park. or Peal Center? Dark center isle during the day. Not much room between Toliet and Kitchen.

but it is cheap and has Toliet and Kitchen.

Pay $500 to rent a room at the open market may be have to share toliet with other pple and may be not allow to cook.

Hmm. I am earning between $1500 to $2000 a month and stay with my mother who owns a 4 room hdb flat. I earn less than Mdm Seah.

Can I report that I am a low income earner too and rent a 1 room hdb flat from hdb and pay $26 a month rental too?

Cite Mdm Seah that eg to ask HDB whether u can report u r low income earner, if u can not then why she can?

I guess a lot of applicants do in this way lah, especially those no need to contribute CPF and those above 55 years old.

HDB lazy to catch them so there is a long Q waiting.

I think it's mainly in older matured estates.

You won't find 1 room flats in Sengkang or Pasir Ris.

sambawang got 2 blocks of new 1 rm flat, residents can move into the unit at the end of this year, force to build cos the long Q waiting, so it is possible the next one will located at Sengkang or Pasir Ris.

10 yrs u also hv to wait unless u can afford to rent a room for $250-$500 per month if u got no house, or u can camping at somewhere everyday.

Those 1 room flats rented out to poor folks are a cost center, don't think they so free to give out more money to the poor, remember they are a profit center corporation, they manifesto is based on having lotsa profits.
