Also,He asked SG citizens to do so!!

Currently,Mr Gopalan Nair is a licensed and practising lawyew in califonia.

1. As a lawyer in USA,how can he suggests Singapore citizen to commit

crime by holding dual citizenship?

As a former SG citizen,he knows too well it is a crime.

But he still suggest "U can do it.So long u dunt tell them"

Relinquished Singapore citizenship 2005 because I was not prepared to permit Lee Kuan Yew to unjustly retain my CPF funds if I remained Singapore Citizen. On principle, the only correct thing for me to do was to give it up, for my CPF funds. I am an American Citizen as of 2004.

Actually, IIRC, while the act of holding dual Singapore citizenship is an offence under Singapore law, to not declare yourself to be doing so is NOT. There's a legal clause under SG law that states that a person need not divulge information if the information can be used to incriminate him. Thus for Gopalan to state that there is no need for a Singaporean to make such a declaration is not only NOT against the law, he is actually exercising his duty as a lawyer.

Ah yes, here it is. A search on google refers to Section 121 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Statutes of the Republic of Singapore:

121(2) - Such person shall be bound to state truly the facts and circumstances with which he is acquainted concerning the case except only that he may decline to make with regard to any fact or circumstance a statement which would have a tendency to expose him to a criminal charge or to a penalty or forfeiture.
