one foot, and one step - and no further.
".......the last to step off" - already indicate that he will
never have been exposed to any dangers and risks in any fire
fights, which means that the General is under shelter.
Brilliant speech for a General who takes cover most of the time
to be around to bring home the Dead and those barely Alive.
Singaporeans will have to help ourselves with such a
General that got his rank not from combat or from
leadership experience, but by way of patronage and
cronyism.
