Just finish lunch with my Indonesia colleagues..They were disappointed with the verdict coz they believed that David was murdered by the professor. It now shows that being in Indonesia is still much safer than in SG...at least 1 more life would not have lost if he is in Indo.

you eat too much indonesia nasi padang liao....what is one life in singapore compare to indo,..they are the third largest population in the world, maybe our PM is aware of Mr. David case, but Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of Indo dun even know he existed.

I felt sorry for the family of late David Widjaja but it seemed the case is is like the scenario David stabbed professor n subsequently a fight broke out between the two of them, prof grabbed the knife n David kena hurt. Prof escaped n ran out of the room shouting for the help. David also ran out n went to the rooftop n committed sucide. Also from the same country but I felt that the family cannot accept the truth.

i cant fathom for what reason indonesians would believe he is innocent despite the overwhelming evidence

reminds me of the case with flor contemplacion case

despite the agreement between FBI and SG team that she is the murderer, the filipinos keep thinking she is innocent

to any outside observation, it becomes a matter of national pride than fact-finding

I agree that the family just cant accept the fact that their precious little boy could do such a thing.

Its looking more and more to be like the classic example of a family who thinks they know what the son wants and thinks that they know what is best for their son.

Unfortunately it isnt.

Then when the crunch time comes, they cannot accept the fact.

Even if they bring it up to whatever international court, the verdict will more or less be the same.

Medal of Valour for attempted murder? and to whom did he sacrfice his life? Not for Singapore, or anybody in Singapore.

But I think he is a good reminder to many parents, especially those from Indonesia, that they should continue to look after their children whom they sent to overseas for study. Don't ever think giving money is enough. They need to spend time understanding them, talk to them and help them, before they start jumping off the window.

I agree with you that Indonesians think they are rich so they can just throw money at SG & expect their children to be well taken care of to the standard they want.

Anyway I dun think this thread is going anywhere since there are 2 clearly group here, Pro-David & Anti-David. Lets close the thread to move on & let God decide.
