The entire election process should be reviewed, as what has been
created so far by the PAP Government has been a political ploy to
further entrench the PAP fortunes, even as much as it had been
claimed by the PAP to be protecting minority rights.
Going by past election events, JBJ was strongly supported
even in the various constituencies with the majority being Chinese,
and so were other PAP candidates who stood in the wards that were
assigned to them.
Was Singapore politics heading towards a racial bias that
necessitate the creation of a GRC system to guarantee the
minority's rights to be equally represented in the political
process ?
With the GRC in place, and looking at the ethnic mix in
the Parliament today, do we see any fair and proportional
representation of the ethnic groups according to the ethnic
percentages in the Singapore population ?
The GRC is a LKY scheme to handicap the Alternative
Parties, and is another tool put in place to assure and
guarantee PAP the continued success in the Election Process.
The GRC allow one or two weak candidate
- who have lost in their wards - to be pulled into
Parliament by the team members of the GRC.
This scheme allow the PAP to ensure that the Alternative Parties
cannot slip into Parliament in a one-to-one stand-off with a weak
PAP candidate.
This is a plan to prevent an option for the Singapore
Electorate to vote for more members from the Alternative Parties to
check on the PAP, while at the same time getting the services of
the PAP.
In other words, LKY do not want any check nor balance in
Parliament that will require PAP actions to be carefully reviewed,
questioned, and checked.
Even if the GRC scheme is modified according to the the manner
as suggested by this Thread, can it work ?
It will mean that in a GRC of 5 candidates, only the
candidates - from whichever party - with the highest ballots
received will enter Parliament.
It will mean that the winning candidates do not pull the weaker
candidate into Parliament - which defeat or annul the very
concept that LKY had planned.
With the existing Third World Mentality of LKY and his team
of Talented Elites - conducting Politics in its present form in
Singapore that is unlike that found in the First World - can
the ideas proposed in this Thread have a beginning ?
As matters stand, the Third World mentality of the Singapore
Political Elite from the PAP have resulted
in the holding up of development
and upgrading for the various Constituencies now under
the control of WP and the SDA.
When the GRC system fail to prevent the electoral success of the
Alternative Party to form a new Government, the ultimate act
left - for the Third World Mentality of LKY and his elite
Talents - is to activate the SAF to prevent any Alternative
Political Party to form a Government when they are elected by
Singaporeans.
