why
do you see there is a need to "terminates the entire ethnic to
intergrate the entire region"? this is very strong,
evil, uncalled for accusation.
This
article was exploring the myth of decreasing population in Tibet in
relation to the genocide. But in the process the authors admitted
the following. From the Horse mouth.....
Institute
of Economic Research, State Department of Planning Commission,
Beijing) Asian Ethnicity, Volume 1, Number 1,
March 2000
Compared
with those debatable allegations of
`genocide’ and
`forced birth control’
, the
present author believes
that the suggestion of
population transfer of non-Tibetans into the traditionally
Tibetan regions, or ethnographic Tibet, is basically true,
considering the fact that before 1949 there
were only a handful of Han Chinese traders in political Tibet. It
is also true that this population transfer has been gaining
momentum in recent years. This will certainly
affect Tibetan culture. (Yan page

Rights.
although
number could not be fully accountable but i give and take 80 degree
of confident still have a lot of deadbody to count. A systematic of
taking away culture and population transfer is as good
as dismantling your heritage.
PS: I am not use to author citing him/herself as a third
person.
what does the riots in urumuqi has to do with Tibet? is the term
"genocide" appropriate in this context?
the people in Human Rights must have found out that
abuses of human rights anywhere in the world, as long as there are
differences, in the US, or the UK, and the largest
democratic country in the world, may be that is the reason why they
want to preserve Tibet as their ultimate Shangri La.
In this era of globalization, name me any country that is not
affected by external culture, in singapore, a small country,
is feeling the impact of different people and culture from the
region, the culture from hollywood, we are only glad that
boollywood has little effect here for we know what to choose, yes,
ultimately it is what the citizens choose, between traditional
culture/heritage and foreign culture that comes with
technology.
The tibetian youths are like youths anywhere else, want to have
MP4, watch transformers, and drink starbuck, of course much to the
displeasure of their parents. anything new? who is dismantling
their heritage?
there are over 5 millions tibetians in China. while Hans, and
other minorities are moving into tibet, hundreds of thousands of
tibetians have moved out of tibet into other provinces to make
better living. They are in the same country! ask anybody in china,
who need any special permit to travel anywhere in China now? what
systematic population transfer? you are obviously still living in
the 70'.
While I do not necessarily agree with everything the Chinese
government are doing, or the US government, or even the Singapore
government, I do not always put the blame on them just
because somebody got constipation in their a s s and diarrhea of
the brain.
We should go back and talk about how to promote intergration and
racial harmony, you are given more choice than what your father was
given in his days, so don't put the blame on the government if you
do not follow your father's tradition.
