"Gosh they were so smelly and disgusting that my kids
started to make sick faces at me. Their sweaty body touch mine
hands and my kids and I glared at them."
Madam, these are *soldiers. Not blighting office workers. They
wear uncomfortable, heavy, and *hot uniforms in an uncomfortably
hot country. Do you honestly expect them to be squeaky clean and
smelling like roses after trekking from their barracks to the camp
gate and from the camp gate to the bus stop, *all on foot*? In my
old unit, we had to walk 800m to the gate, then a
further 500+m to the nearest bus stop or MRT. Unlike
privileged personnel (like yourself) who can take cabs and get
pickups, these men move everywhere on their two heavily booted
feet.
Therefore, a little sweat and smell is understandably
unpleasant. But it is not *blameworthy. And it most certainly does
*not justify your attitude here, madam.
"SAF should really ban their soldiers from taking
the bus."
Having to serve 2 years simply for being a man is bad
enough, but we can take it. Now you want to force us off
the buses which we, as *citizens, should have every right to board.
You really think NSmen are second-class citizens, don't you,
madam?
"Can't they take taxis with their pay? What are our tax
payer money for?"
Do we expect hardworking construction workers who slave all day
for us to take cabs?
And mind you, madam an *officer's monthly pay is only around
$1k. Therefore, i am sure that a corporal like me who got on with
about $500/month has plenty of money to take cabs every time he
needs to get home.
A wise use of taxpayer's money indeed. Oh wait. Not taxpayer's
money. The allowance that we *earned, madam.
"Somemore they come from tekong dunno got any germs or virus
with them. Later they spread to my children and worse to
us."
In that case, all people who come back from JB after shopping
should be kept off buses. That is clearly not acceptable.
You clearly haven't indicated that you are disturbed with
the many foreigners who share the same bus as you. And
speaking of "any germs or virus", many of them probably come from
*H1N1*-stricken areas. Yet you don't complain about them.
I have nothing against foreigners or people returning from other
countries. But why the different standard for NSmen? You clearly
seem to have something against them.
You truly do think we are second-class citizens, don't you,
madam?
"Hope the relavant authorities take note"
Madam, of your infuriating ignorance, hopefully.
