I am in the Civil service Line. It is really unfair that i
don't get my deserved bonus. I work in Singapore Sports Council. I
serve the public who are not always polite and civil. I have 12 yr
old kids being rude, when asked to display their student pass when
going to gym, some even asking me to call up their schools to
check, when there are signs that indicate there is no entry to
the Gym if you don't display your student pass.
Then there are folks who get angry at us for the Badmiton court
bookings, they call us to book courts, then show up late
without making payment expecting their courts to be
there despite us telling them that they have to pay up latest
within 15 mins before their playing time or else their courts will
be given out to whoever requests it over the counter.
Ours is not a 8 to 5.30 job. I start work at 6.45 am and finish
at 10.15 pm on certain days without Lunch or dinner breaks, when we
don't have enough manpower. The management is more worried about
Public complaining there is noone in the counter is service them
then let their staff go for Lunch or dinner breaks.
We work 6 days a week, including sats, Sun and Public Holiday
when many Government places close, we are still open. I did
not even take MC for one yr, only to get this kind of news.
We are not getting our Bonus despite Singapore is getting
revenue in Sports, like Asian Youth games, Youth Olympics and F1
Night race. Anyone reading this, i request humbly, not to
verbally abuse us for doing our jobs. We are who are also
humans. We do our jobs based on our guidelines. I came across many
places where i got poor service but will not lash out cause it
creates only bad energy and the next person waiting to be served
would not get top class service
