Iast night I got involved in a long discussion with some old
friends, mostly male, and I was shocked to hear their comments
about a mutual friend who recently broke up with his partner.
To cut it short, he left her for a fairly insignificant girl, less
attractive, less educated, less humorous, less matey, less
everything, at least in my eyes. All the guys seemed to suggest
that his new gf is more feminine, by which they meant more
submissive, and that he finally feels "like a man", apparently
because his new gf treats him like god. All the girls, myself
included, were flabbergasted.
We are talking successful, well-travelled men in their mid-30s, who
you would expect to treat women as equal, instead they were saying
things that not even my father would dare to say.
What do you make of it?
When it comes to serious relationships, possibly cohabitation,
would you go for an independent woman or someone who needs
protection and feels inferior?
Do you expect your partner to be a mate, besides being a lover, or
someone that stays at home while you go out with your friends?
