Thank you for reminding that they are paid to produce all these shits that does not help the economy nor motivate us at all.

Upturn the downturn song?

What a title?

Maybe they will get the next Singapore Idol to sing it in the finale.

I understand that to be a NTUC member you need to pay a fee very month so that NTUC can help you if you got working problems, but hell, members didn't paid them to sing song and party mah.

Times are so bad, still can sing song and frankly, if want to sing, at least get a better singer, those voices suit the chinese funneral ceremony

"I already gave my best and I have no regrets at all."

"I have no professional training."

I heard the bad singing by the NTUC singers, it's actually converted from a Hokkien song, I wonder if they will be sued for copyrights.

The youtube title asked, "will the slogans and songs help the needy?".

Look at it this way, it's either you are poor and sad or poor and happy.

William Hung is the man, he rocks.

angel7030 SG

that labour chief ah Lim can be the lead Sia Kong (hokkien priest) in a funneral to upturn the death relatives morale from downturn.

In retrospect, I am not too sure if I was happy after listening to that song by NTUC.

I was looking at the video.

The commentator mentioned you need to pay $117 annually to be a NTUC member?

Why so expensive? Is this true?

NTUC is a workers' union, it's a profit oriented organisation, it needs to make profits too.

No money no talk.

angel7030 SG

the song is not meant to make one happy, rather, it remind one about the downturn

I googled.

Annual membership fees are really $117.

Damn, it is expensive.

http://www.ntuc.org.sg/members/signup/core_benefits_content.asp

Jan - Nov, it is $9 a month.

For Dec, it is $18.

charlize SG

According to the video, there are 194,000 union members.

That works out to $22.698 million in annual membership fees.

So the difference from membership fees and perceived help is still a positive cashflow for NTUC?

Or is it breakeven?
