u still havnt filled in the gaps yet...how old were u when u got this license? what vehicles does it allow u to drive? y do u still need to sit for class 3 when u can oready drive here??? it isnt recognised by the TP?

u want to ask u ask properly. dun want to ask properly then dun bother.

i was 19 when i got my licence. it allows me to race in certain classes up to lower Prototypes class for touring cars. i need to sit for a class 3 because I can drive but i am not allowed to do so on the roads if the govt dun certify that i can follow road rules(which are different from racing rules).

Let me ask you. If you are taking both physics and chemistry, if you can pass chemistry, why do you have to sit for physics? they are both science right? so passing chemistry means u can pass physics?

It isn't recognised by the TP because legalised racing isn't under their purview. and no my licence is not earned thru Grand Turismo, I've never even touched that game before.

i can answer every darned question thrown my way. those who wish to believe, will do so. those who are just out to make trouble... no matter how accurate and how right my answers are, it doesn't make a difference to them. we shall see who those people are.

then do u drive on SG roads now? what car are u driving?
do u take part in any events? CArpark rallies etc etc..why did u take the racing licence instead of the normal class 3? isnt it even harder to obtain wifout any basics in driving?

i am really curious about all these flaming on heng’s racing licence. its merely a written authorisation issued by FIA to race and not to drive on bloody singapore roads! what do you expect heng to do? scan and paste his licence on a sticky thread? get real chaps. if i’m not wrong, raikonnen and button can race even before getting their driving licence.

actually most racing greats got their racing licences long before they could legally drive on the roads. not just button and raikkonen. michael and ralf schumacher, mika hakkinen, fernando alonso, the great Aryton Senna, and a host of other chaps.

in Jenson's debut year in F1, he was not allowed to drive on the roads in australia when he was there for the Australian GP because he was considered too young.

no i do not drive on the sg roads now, other then during my class 3 lessons. I take part in circuit events both local and overseas. no i do not take part in rallies because they are not very interesting and they are rallies, not races. my interest is in racing against the next guy beside me, not in rallying trying to set a fastest time for the others to beat. i took my racing licence 1st because i am really passionate about racing, so much that i wanted to race before i could drive. that very same passion keeps me from giving up in spite of the mental bashing all u green-eyed people out there keep dealing out to me. yes maybe it is more difficult and yes maybe its not but so far my development as a racing driver has not suffered from me not having any basics. in fact, learning the basics on the circuit has helped me develop considerably faster than my fellow racers on the circuit.

Actually class 3 license is so easy to get.... the 3 things they are looking for is safety, wayang and dun argue back with tester...... I know a lot who got their license from the first attempt but are very bad drivers on the road.... so no need to compare..... There are always room for improvement.....

ok..then what do u drive on the circuit? brand, model, make?
are u given any credits taking ur class 3 becoz u hold a racing license? are there any real racing events other than those rallies and Go-karts? legal of course...i used to attend those at Tuas
im not green-eyed...more like glazed over... Shocked

Hi Heng.

When you get and your class 3 do drop me a pm. I do not have a racing license just an ordinary QDL. I would love to have a run with you, just to see if a racing license really makes a diffrence when it comes to a crunch.

I don't have a set of fancy wheels. Just a 1.5L family saloon. But just like you i trust its the person behind the wheels that make diffrence.
