whether it is doing well or not, economy is cyclical, we hv to
prepare our workers now and get them the job first, with a job,
people get busy and will ultimately do less silly things,
all these SARs, swine or rabbit or birdie flu and the economy
downturn is not within our control, but we learn to take it hard
on, but the most important is to get our workers trained,
redesignated and upgrade to face the next up trend. Be it if the
economy graph is going to be V or U or L shaped, we hve to plan and
get our people ready, if we are to stay put and dun create jobs,
dun keep on attracting investor here and no plan for it, we plan to
fail.
Unemploy welfare only create lazy people, and the govt at one
time also consider scraping it, but of course they will get a alot
of reaction from the public, it is the west idea, and the Asian do
not embrace it, cos we believe you earn with both hands and a mind,
not laze around and expect to line up to get the welfare. You saw
those american blacks, they simply dun wan to work and make a havoc
of the society.
What i see and saw are old american folks, black widows and
those drunken and drug abusers clinging to their dear life at the
cold street of NY central park warming their hands over a barrel of
fire.
And you are right, they see me as an Asian gal who can easily
get conned or raped, so i just act blur blur,...when they ask me
for a bottle or help, i just reply...huh? see be taji, wha lau,
seibei cham, bee kok lan, and slowly they turned and walk away. You
see professional beggar in thais or some third world asian country
like India...but no America ya, they aint professional enuf
Ofcors we understand the economy is cyclical. The question is,
we can build all these and boost for the next upturn.. what are we
to do during the NEXT downturn. Are we not building a BIGGER
problem in the future ? Now we create 50,000 jobs.. we keep
importing FWs to take up these jobs.. next downturn.. we will have
25,000 umemployment , what then ? Somemore.. SG is a small
island..do we REALLY need TWO casino ?????
Unemployment welfare does not feed you forever.. it just gives
you some respite to tide you over from your retrenchment to your
next job.. and it does not pay a lot. About 5-6 months so you can
pay some of your bills and put some food on your table so your
family don't starve while you look for another job.
It is not illegal to be homeless in USA. As long as they do not
commit crime, we don't care how they choose to live their life.
It's a choice they made. You may think they are filthy.. they are
embarrassing.. but people in the USA don't care what YOU think.
USA gahmen don't whisk homeless people away to an "institution "
just because they are an inconvenience to you. Because homeless are
also human, they have the rights to their freedom too.
And why must it always be " Asian vs Western", couldn't we just
look at policies and consider if it is " Good or Bad" or can be
improved ?
