Drive to Desaru?

Hi anyone has done the baove before? I was thinking of renting a car from either sg or my to desaru.. anyone has any idea where to get an online map from singapore to desaru? Thanks in advance Smile

No problem, the journey takes abt 1½hr and no map is needed. Once you go across the causeway, head for Kota Tinggi and then you will see Desaru eventually. Road Sign quite clear!

none of the online maps r updated. go to any my. petrol kiosk n u can get a recent map there for bout rm$10…

try 2nd link thn exit pasir gudang/johor bahru.

u will hit this town called taman perling. jus drive straight on all the way n u will hit kota tinggi. follw signboards frm there...

rentg a car in sg will b slightly more ex but it saves the hassle of u having to find yr way to JB n getg out again with all yr stuff tt u will bring. try this company called siang hock.

My personal opinion, 2nd link cost more but faster, going Desaru don't need to rush for time. Normally I will go through causeway, and take my lunch before heading to Desaru.

You may wants to drive up your car on a ferry at the Taman Merah Ferry terminal. The ferry takes you to Johore port and you only need to drive less than ½hr to Desaru. But it will cost much more!

ferry can take cars huh? i try to ask abt the ferry.. they said board at changi ferry but no cars allow.. any advise?

Do not take Changi Ferry Terminal, take the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

I started from Jurong via 2nd link at 9pm. Reached Ipoh at 2am. Non-stop driving.

Coming back started at Sunday 6pm, reaching S'pore at 12am. Traffic jams at NSE b4 KL... Crying or Very sad

Ya, 5 hrs to drive up. Smooth traffic but need to exit from the NSE at Damansara, go through small road to Sungei Buloh and enter on the highway and continue to Ipoh.

Returning 6 hrs due to high volume of traffic, complete stop at times but I travel on road shoulder. Then exit to outskirt of KL and re-enter at Sungei Besi. Quite smooth traffic all the way back to Tuas 2nd link.

Average speed at 130km/h.

Ic no wonder you can cover such a distance. For myself i always drive on the left lane at 80-90kmh. If i feeling bored i go till 100 or 110 but i never speed past 110. Its great for the fuel consumption. i can cover large distance with a single tank of fuel.

I topped up the moment I crossed the custom, when I reached Ipoh which travelled around 520km, petrol pointer fall just below ¼ mark!

Thats pretty good mileage. My Nissan X-trail can cover 800km on a single tank of petrol(60 litres).

I travel at 80-90kmh...and i stop to refill at Bukit Kayu Hitam just before i enter hatyai.

HI Thai Hero, you travel NSE or the old road? 80-90 is for buses and lorry leh... And it will took you more than 10hrs of driving... Might as well take coach Surprised . Save money and energy... Then can 'cheong' at hatyai Laughing Oops, meaning eating and shopping.... Twisted Evil

I travel the west coast road. Normally i would stop at malacca a few days...then carry on to ipoh and penang. Fill up at kayu hitam...then go to hatyai. i will then proceed towards phuket, bangkok or chiang mai. Sometimes i go for 2 to 3 mths...stay at cheap hotels and eating local food...its a great and cheap way to travel.
