''The centre, which is run by the local council, will no
longer provide services between 5:30pm and 8:00am the next morning
and Flowerdale local and bushfire victim Lynette Watson says
residents of the tent city were not warned.
"In the meantime, we've got no access to toilets, to more
blankets, to food," she said.
"We have access to nothing. Even if there wasn't volunteers
of a night time why do they have to lock doors and close us
out?
"You know, we're out there in a tent, we've got nothing. One
hundred per cent of what we do, we rely on these doors being
opened."
Murrundindi Shire Mayor Lyn
Gunter says the relief centre has been downgraded because it is not
being utilised.
"The amount of people now that
are using it is next to no one," she said.
"We can see what we can do about it."
However, a spokeswoman for the Red Cross says their
registration services at the Yea crisis centre are still available
24 hours a day.
