Grassroots leaders

likedatosocan SG

I have some doubts about grassroots leaders.

1. how many are there? where can see the list? For example, someone claims to be one, where to check this info?

2. is this term implicit that they are all People's Association members?

3. do they get any fee or salary for being so?

4. are grassroots leader role implicitly related to politics or political parties?

Hope to learn from you.

Thanks,

free PA passion card with photo? silver card?

when block party, need not buy ticket? eat free? usually their T-shirt come with pocket, that a pair of chop-stick is usually inserted in there, this is to tell other residents participate that these RC member all get to eat FREE.

when negibourhood police post & NEA give out free biz, they get to keep these free biz first, free drink mugs, free magnet? any thing free for resident they get to keep one set first.

festive celebration, get to go ISTANA for meal.

National Day get to have FREE ticket

if i am not wrong, most grassroot leader are members of the PA, RC, town council.

this is just a way to decribe ppl working at the ground to help resident. not a position by itself.

Joolead SG

Do they still get pay?

teraexa SG

For RC members, no.

For town councillors... depends on the position.

Why, pay important meh? Want to join ah?

zaxis SG

when they say organis also not they do,

every time get event management company to do,

when food also not they cook, also get catering.

so they only wear RC T-shirt with pocket,

can always see pair of chopstick on the pocket,

Joolead SG

yup…pay is important else why our mp get so high up for.
