bec tobacco is a profitable trade so govt can use the convenient excuse that tobacco is bad for health so im gonna increase the price to discourage plp from smoking. But does that help? its like building erp to discourage plp from buying cars.

What does "STOP" means to the TS?

STOP can mean many things.

Perhaps our Papists are monitoring this post, nevertheless, here's a few proposal to stop our ruling.

1. Combine all oppositions into 1 strong party.

2. Stop PAP from within.

3. Influence through internet, by using empathy to gain support.

4. Garner support from non-english group.

5. Be an influencial businessman in a precious commodity/service to Singapore and indirectly influence political policies.

Anymore ideas?

True, people have a choice not to smoke, thus not contributing to the coffers.

Roads, yes, definitely with ERP placed strategically along the roads, it will increase operational costs.

Discourage people from buying cars with ERPs, yes, to a certain degree, again, it's down to choice, you can choose not to have a car as it's pretty convenient in Singapore, you can do away with Cars, unlike in M'sia.

How to stop Pay and Pay? How to stop the Lees?

I have this crazy idea from reading a sgf thread. I know it wont work, because singaporeans are kia-si.

We can show our displeasure with the lees way of running singapore, by mass jumping on MRT stations all over sg. People getting knocked by trains in boon lay, jurong east, bukit batok, clementi, chua chu kang, woodlands, orchard, outram park, tanjong pagar, kallang, bedok, bugis, tampines, pasir ris, toa payoh, bishan, changi, expo. 2 persons or more at each station, make SMRT stop!

Then when they going to resume that time, we do it again! MRT stations will be crowded like hell. Taxis will be overloaded, people cant go to work, students cant go to school.

Mass suicide ftw!

In order to stop the mass suicides, the lees must agree to these terms

-Remove cheenaman from our country effectively, with just a small number left

-Do not allow Malaysians to work decently paid jobs or above

-Reduce cigarettes and tobacco tax by $1 per packet or equivalent

-Gst to go back to 5%

-Reduce alcohol tax by a small amount

-Reduce funding on education, the money could be spent elsewhere

-Increase subsidies for healthcare

-And more importantly, MM and PM Lee both stepping down

If all else fails, we can always follow the thais, camp at changi airport!

Retarded idea.....you might as well organise mass burglarly/robbing/plundering of Malaysia.

All Singaporeans go into Malaysia and start committing robbing, plundering, burglarly crimes.

Of course Malaysia won't have so many prison to contain all the Singaporean criminals.

It will indirectly made Singapore lose alot of face, dollar value will go down and you might even get to read and see your favorite PM or MP apologising to the PM or MP of Malaysia.

But of course, this is not my idea and I'm am in no way responsible for inciting such intolerant actions.

I don't approve or encourage such destructive actions and behaviour from Singaporeans towards our friendly and peaceful Malaysia neighbour.

I'm a new member of the sgforums family, a local here.

As all of you have surely noticed, there are more foreigners in Singapore nowadasy.. majority from China, India, Malaysia etc.. and also from the States, and European countries.

I used to have a prejudice towards chinese from China, as i find some of their behaviors rude, ill-manners. China used to give me the impression of being third-class, run down, dirty... (Question to think about: Why don't we have the same prejudice towards Western countries? )

However, as i develop, i guess my mindset changed, and i adopted a more, open-minded thinking. I try to get to know people from diverse backgrounds...Thanks to the internet, i have friends from Thailand, Burma, Taiwan, China, Brazil, States...

As i begin to be curious, and ask about their culture, i begin more curious, i tasted their food (always a good way to start a conversation), talked about their culture there... compare and contrast, "people there.. people here"...

My impression for China, Chinese, Indians and all the countries changed! i concluded that, we are not that different afterall...We are who we are (partially) because of our society background/culture... (How will I be if i was raised in.... the States ? or .. China?) i mean, we don't decide where to be born.. and people, no matter from where just want a better life.. Thus, they come to Singapore, and many Singaporeans go overseas... (Think of how their host country people think of Singaporean?? It's irrational).

Singapore is a meritocrity society right? Whoever can do a good job, should get the job.. Hmmm perhaps, a little humility and being appreciative of others will help the change? There's really nothing to brag about..

As with regards to the PAP? I hope i have the opportunity to have a break, and live overseas for sometimes... see if i still like it here...
