Growing up
When I was just a little boy
My mum didn’t ask me what I want to
be
When I get poor results for my
exam
She would bring out the cane to hit
me
I would play soccer on the field
below
With a lot of kids which I don’t
know
Slowly we began to play more
regularly
And we all start to feel like a small
family
Life was so much simpler than it is
now
We don’t have things like laptops and
mobiles
All we had was a small pager
Which mum will expect me to quickly
answer
But good things don’t last
forever
And now I am just an ordinary
worker
If I could go back fourteen years
earlier
I wish I didn’t make that terrible
blunder
It is too late now for me to
ponder
Fourteen years too late and it’s all
over
